Methodology
How Artificial-Intelligence.info researches AI tools, rankings, and comparisons using primary sources and verification notes.
AI tools directory
A tool profile is published only after we can describe, at minimum, what the product is for and where the official source of truth lives. Typical fields include a short description, company linkage when known, free-plan / API / open-source flags when confirmable, and links back to official materials.
Categories (coding, writing, images, video, research, productivity, business, education, and others as added) organize discovery. A category page may exist before any tools are published in it; that empty state is intentional.
Best AI rankings
Rankings answer a use-case question. We do not publish a single universal “best AI” list. For each ranking we aim to document:
- the job the list is optimizing for;
- why each included tool was selected;
- notable strengths and limitations;
- a pricing summary tied to sources, not invented score math.
Positions can change when products change, when better evidence appears, or when the use case definition is refined.
Comparisons
Comparisons place two or more tools side by side with shared dimensions. They are editorial syntheses, not lab benchmarks, unless a page explicitly says a hands-on test was performed and describes the setup.
Learning center and glossary
Concept articles explain ideas in accessible language and may offer audience levels (beginner, student, professional, developer) without multiplying canonical URLs. Glossary terms provide short definitions and fuller explanations for vocabulary used across the site.
Articles should separate established definitions from product marketing. When a term is contested, the page should note competing usages rather than pretending consensus exists.
Verification and dates
Where shown, “last verified” or “reviewed” dates indicate when an editor last checked key claims against sources. They are not a warranty that every sentence remains current afterward — AI products change quickly.
Sources listed on a page are the citations supporting that page’s claims. Prefer official URLs when available.
Known limits
- We cannot continuously re-test every product feature.
- Pricing and plan names change; always confirm on the vendor site before buying.
- Model quality is task-dependent; a tool that is strong for one workflow may be weak for another.
- Absence from the directory is not a judgment that a product is worthless — it may simply be unpublished yet.
